In 1838, a French craftsman named Jean Bardou came up with the idea for a booklet of rolling papers made of thin, pure rice paper. The booklets were a success and Bardou's trademark, the initials "JB" separated by a diamond, became such a common sight that people began referring to them as JOB, thus the brand name was born. When people mistook the ◊ for an O, Jean didn't change it. He turned it into one of the world's most iconic brands and by 1849 he filed for a patent for "Papier JOB". Over 180 years later, their papers still start with a set of core principles. Sustainability. Craft. Stewardship. From the sustainable harvests that produce JOB's fibers to the rigorous tests they go through to the natural acacia gum that holds them together, the standard stays high. The heritage of this brand spans almost two centuries. Their future stretches even further.
